It was a rainy morning in Izmir that caused one-hour delay in the schedule. After the rain delay, Folkart Izmir Cup stars made quick job on the way to quarter finals. 

No.2 seed Malek Jaziri took on lucky-loser Andrei Vasilevski on the center court, where he concluded the match in straight sets with 6-4, 7-6. Last year's runner-up Tunisian ATP star tripped his third consecutive quarter final in Izmir. 

Following Jaziri, another tournament favorite Lukas Lacko easily beat Lithuanian Laurynas Grigelis in straigh sets, 6-1, 6-4. Lacko won his 24 of 30 first serve points, that was enough to outclass his opponent. 4th seed Slovak extended his Izmir streak to seven wins, dating back to 2011. 

22-year-old Georgian qualifier Aleksandre Metreveli defeated Czech Michal Konecny 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to make it through to his first-ever ATP Challenger Tour quarter final. He will play Jaziri for a spot in the semis. 

In the earlier concluded second-round encounter, Ramkumar Ramanathan was victorious over German qualifier Daniel Masur with 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, despite having not managed to break. The tough Indian who stunned Elias Ymer in his Izmir opener, needed 5 hours 13 minutes in total to reach the quarters.
